“I am a builder and an engineer at heart. I’ve always looked at technology – software in particular, as a tool to help build the 21st-century business. Unfortunately, just as the Industrial Age before the invention of the assembly line, so is the Information Age today incredibly inefficient, and crafted mainly by hand.   As I grew through corporate ranks delivering technology from writing software, gathering requirements, running teams, and technology departments, I have seen an immense amount of wasted opportunities, I have witnessed failed efforts and user disappointment. Software Projects don’t deliver very efficiently, even when their objectives are met. 70% of all software initiatives fail, IT consultants become yes man and women instead of advisors, vendors represent their own agendas instead of their clients’. My mission is to introduce efficiency and order to the Software Development practice, eliminate chaos in Software Projects, and make it accessible to my clients.”

I wrote these words in 2012, and they remain as relevant to me now as they were then.  I launched Three Column Consulting to help deliver on my mission. My organization can reduce the unacceptable failure rate and improve your software project because I focus on your Business Goals, I know when and how to listen, and when and how to push back.  This, and my in-depth body of experience with the many SDLC variants, knowledge of Development, Project Management, Systems Integration makes me unique, in that while being a technology expert I speak your language, the language of Business.

If you are starting a Software Development project, need to outsource a CTO, hire a development team, reduce risk or re-assess you way out of a technology hole, or if you simply need an extra pair of eyes and hands to deliver that initiative, give me a call or post a message and let’s talk about how Three Column Consulting can help.
